Plot: The film is an exploration of Batman's journey and his search for the man who would become the Joker.
We are shown the history of Batman as we see the formation of the League of Shadows. Selina Kyle is introduced and reveals her reason for abandoning Batman. Later on we see the Dark Knight meet a new ally, Edward Nygma, an intelligent, young orphan who escapes the asylum where he was being held. Soon after, Bane, a new villain, enters the story. By the end of the film, Batman and Robin have defeated the League of Shadows and the Joker has been captured.
